Well thanx for all the help guys but I'm really trying to get this piece from a source in Canada. By the time I pay shipping which I want faster than 2 weeks (ground) so that will be an extra $50 then pay the duty fee's for coming across the boarder + paying the exchange rate I might aswell get one from my GM dealer at $450. I would get it faster.

I guess the only thing I'm curious at now is why these starters are being listed as rebuilt from Napa? I thought they were all new? I talked to him again and he said the rebuilt starter for a 96 vette with a 350ci is a Nippon-Denso gear reduction starter that he crossed referenced with the LT4 GM part #. This sound right?

Whats the advantage of the LT4 starter over the LT1 starter????

Smaller, lighter, more starting power, all new and not rebuilt. Sounds cooler too

The Y-body LT1 starter and the Y-body LT4 starter are the same thing.
