Lt4 starter

Hey guys I did a search on finding a pic for the LT4 starter but came up with a bunch of old threads where the pics do not work any more. I'm wanting to order one from NAPA around here since my local GM dealer wants around $450 for a new one The guy at Napa can find it but isn't sure if its the LT4 one so I was wondering if you guys can supply a pic so I can make sure I get the right one? Thanx for the help!

*EDIT*
Or does anyone have/can find the Napa part #? Thanx!

Here you go. A quick search on Yahoo's Image function turned this up:

Re: Lt4 starter

That page lists the AC Delco part number. NAPA should be able to cross reference it to a p/n they stock.

Re: Lt4 starter

I bought a GM LT4 starter a year ago. It was only a $150. I cant believe it went out that much that fast. Try a GM wholesale dealer.

The starter is only $210 from the GM wholesale sites. Also, at napa, try and get a starter for a 96 Corvette with a 6 speed. Supposedly all 6 speed 96 vettes got the LT4.

Re: Lt4 starter

Yea I tried that at NAPA and all the guy could get listings for was a 96 vette with either a 350ci or a 32 valve motor (LT5). No LT4 listing or tranny specific model.

Do a search for the phone number for Jason Cromer... he will sell you one for $160, give or take.

There wasn't even an LT5 for sale in '96. Silly parts computer systems.

fyi, the LT4 starter interferes with some headers if I remember correctly.

Ruh roh Shaggy. http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...tarter+headers
Aren't the Jet Hot headers similar to the FLP's except for the v-flanges? If that's the case I would probably look for an aftermarket, high torque starter that allows adjustable clocking.

Yea I was pretty sure there wasn't either but never questioned it. I believe from what I've read its FLP and some mid-length headers that have problems fitting. Hookers which is supposed to be the same design as Jet-hot's isn't supposed to have problems with fitment.

I gave him the GM part # for the LT4 and he crossed referenced it over to a gear reduction starter but they all said rebuilt. I thought the LT4 was brand new?

I'm probably thinking of Dynatech headers then It's been a while since I was looking at exhaust parts... I'll go sit in the corner now

Dynatech and FLP are the same. Jet hot and Hooker are the same.
