LT1 running rough

hey guys i have been having a problem with my 94 lt1. It has been running very rough when it warms up. when the car runs at 180 degrees it is very choppy and wont accelerate. Sounds like alot of backfiring. I Changed my opti, plugs, coil. and theres no difference. It must be a fuel problem. When i pulled my plugs 1,3,5,7 were all clean and looked normal. 2,4,6,8 were covered in black soot? (looked like they werent firing) anyone have any idea's?
Thanks
Tom

A few things...you might have the plug wires on the wrong cylinders, or, you might have the opti installed wrong. There's a dowel pin coming off the cam you need to make sure you line up correctly to the opti. When you install the opti, it should have made a clean solid connection when you push it into the timing cover. I'd check the wires, and rule out other obvious things before you go in and reintall the opti, I know it's a PAIN.

O2 sensor on the passenger side could be reading wrong, and causing that cylinder bank to run really rich. It's the same exact thing that's happening to me right now.

i second that motion.....exactly what I was thinking. that is about the only thing that really seperates one side from the other!!

problaby be a good idea to replace both of them together. i'm sure there is a good logical reasonf ro that but i jstu cant think of it right now!!

problaby something like they are the same age and if one went bad the other one might not be working 100% either!!

Yea, definitely a good idea. I would never replace only one.
