On OBD2, its C1 (Red) Pin 13, a White wire "Engine Speed Output Signal" I would imagine its the same for OBD1.

C1 being the connector on thye back of the PCM?

Can you use the negative coil wire or is that a bad idea?

Yep C1 is the red connector of the four going into the computer. Dont know about the negitive wire on the coil, Shoebox could probably tell you. I would imagine it does though because thats all the MSD boxes use. Try it and let us know

the solid white wire that comes off of the coil is the one you need. There is also a solid white that comes off of the computer, you can use that one too.

I'll try the coil. Hopefully it doesn't cause any misfires.

Are you talking about those two plugs that clip together and then clip onto the coil?

Are they 2 wires each?

I have a fat white wire in pin 12. All the connectors on the back are red.

Any ideas?

there should be only one solid white wire on the dual connector harness that connects to the coil. You can splice into that one. I used a wire nut, but you can also use a scotch lock,(I didnt have the right size).
