lt1 problems

i love my camaro but its realy starting to **** me off when i replaced the water pump i also replaced the opti and plug wires and coil. but now it wont start, or it would start but die a couple seconds later. when i try to start it theres a crapload of exhaust and gasoline fumes. and it make a loud noise when i try to start it. i went throug a lot to replace the plug wires and i thing they are ok. so im wondering if its a bad optispark. it worked fine befor i replaced everything except for the distributer was acting up. Has anyone had a similar experience please help.

Need the year of the LT1 engine. Sounds like you may not have aligned the Opti drive shaft correctly if its a 93-94. Not all years of the LT1 are the same.

Why not add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That way people always have the info they need to help you.

Top of every screen is a red task bar. Left click on "User CP". On the dropdown, left click on "Edit Profile".

If its a 95, and it actually started, its not likely you miss-indexed the Opti by putting the dowel pin in the wrong hole on the back of the Opti. But it is a remote possibility.

Are you sure you have the plug wires on the Opti in the correct order?

What brand is the Opti? Anything other than a Delphi or an MSD is likely to fail.
