Hey I am expiriencing pinging at higher rpm like above 4000 around there and up to redline. I have the msd opti with the adjustable timing, but have not screwed with it, and have a tune from madz28 and also the lt4 knock module. I am wondering if it isnt the knock module making it alot less sensitive than it should be cause the tune has the de-sensitise done plus I had the module in too. So it might be a double wammy of desensitation goin on. I run the premium and I have never heard this do it before. Even I had the knock module on before the tune and a accel opti and it never did it. The opti blew up after the tune due to being garbage. And now I got the msd, and the tune and it does it.

Please clarify. Did the problem just appear, or did it happen after new parts or the new tune? Is it possible you got a "bad" tank of gas? Some dealers have been found to be selling the lower octane stuff as premium.

 

I would also check to see where the advance is on the Opti... YOu may be running a little further advanced than you thought you were...

 

yah it seems like it just appeared. I never did this with the accel opti and the tune. But now since the accel blew up and I put on the msd quite a while ago. I just recently noticed that it did this, so it seems it just started. Yah i thought about bad tank of gas. Any chance the darn screw on the msd is advanced and not corretly at 2 turns or at the zero mark?
