LT1 heads
well its true you could leave the stock heads on, it is also true youd be leaving alot of power on the table with that cam. as everyone here will suggest, if you got the money, LE or AI are great options. and you can even find used sets all over the place too. but neither one is very cheap.
I wanted to find out his intended use to recomend the head that would let him reach that goal. and if you just want a set of heads to breath up a little higher in the rpms, and give a big improvement over stock, I got a set of heads for sale that I ported. got pics and flow charts, but cant post pics right now there on my pc thats down right now.
let me know if your interested I'll sell mine for $450 plus shipping, just need a new set of valve springs. I'll try to find the flow chart and post up the #s. but I believe the peak was like 255 @.550" lift. they helped get my car to 11.6's with 3400lb race weight with lots of room to improve. just ran out of money, and now Im parting out the car. or, returning it back to bolt on status, and selling off alot of parts.
got some comp R lifters too. 8K miles on them, and still perfect.
I'd take $150 for the lifters plus shipping.

I don't know much about those valve springs, but you should call AI and see what they say. I'm sure that you can buy bare heads from them, but you should at least get new valves with the heads so they can do you a nice valve job.
See the forum sticky about Comp R lifters.

Far as I can tell my setup peaks around 6100rpms or so, but so long as the valvetrain remains in control it is best to rev beyond peak a few hundred rpms.
The cam I am running is not really any different than you would use in an f-body, Car uses a high STR converter and 3.73s to get it moving.
RPMs are a concern on a stock shortblock, go bigger duration it will need more rpm and that is risky.
If you had more rpms to work with the "heavy car needs more lowend" argument would work, but that is not the case. The reliability of the stock shortblock pretty much dictates a setup that should make good lowend still. If you have a 6500rpm 350 and it makes no lowned, you did something wrong.

I have Lloyd Elliot's heads and am very happy with them, he does a great job!
I just looked at ai's website and they want like 1800 for heads, i am not sure what Lloyd is charging these days but I have his heads and a cc306, i need more tuning cause i maxed out my fuel pump at ~5500 rpm but pulled 362rwhp and still have another 1000rpm to go.
need to get that tune done!

yeah those springs would work good.
I just checked into it, and the dart heads and trick flow heads flow similar to mine. Im sure there a little better (I'll find my flow chart later) but 3 times teh cost. let alone the cost of AI's heads. I think LE's are similar nowadays to AI's cost-wise. prolly just under. anyone know? last I think I saw was $1600. please someone correct me if Im wrong.

What heads? As said above what are your goals and how much money have you to spend. Here is a thread on a motor with some good flowing heads.

Those are the new AFR Competition heads. Maybe AI and Lloyds flow as good?

Just click the botton in the advertisers section and it will direct you there.
Everything is transfered there, I just need to take the time for some price adjustments.
I recently made some arrangements with vendors and I am getting valve trane parts at an even better price so I can pass the saving on to the customers. I have some updates that need to be added to my site but my "web site guy" has not had a chance to post them yet.
The LE1 heads are $900 and $1200 for LE1 heads and a custom cam. This is $50 more for the heads but come with same springs, better retainers, locks, locators, etc. $1200 is the same price for heads and custom cam.
The LE2 heads are $1350 (same 2.00/1.56 Ferrea valves and PAC bee hive bee hive springs, 795 retainers, 611 locks and 4705 locators) and $1650 for the LE2 heads and a custom cam. That is $50 less for heads only (heads were $1400) and $100 less for heads and custom cam (were $1750).
The LE3 heads are $1650 (same Ferrea valves and PAC bee hive bee hive springs, 795 retainers, 611 locks and 4705 locators) and $1950 for the LE2 heads and a custom cam. That is $50 less for heads only (were $1700) and $100 less for heads and custom cam (were $2050).
We can also upgrade parts on the LE1 heads for a small fee or on LE2/LE3 heads, we can supply Patriot Gold Extreme springs with Ti retainer at the same price.

LE2 heads are $1350 and $1650 for LE2 heads and a custom billet cam.
It is a billet cam ($375 retail) with dist gear compatable with stock oil pump drive.
We can do the PAC 1218 or 1220 springs (or Patriot Gold Extreme springs) at that price.

My heads to come assembled and "ready to bolt on" the block but I would suggest replacing the stock rocker arm studs with some ARP studs if using much camshaft at all and some guide plates if using Non Self Aligning rockers arms.
Roller rockers, good pushrods, head gaskets, etc, etc are all things pretty standard on any head swap as well as oil, antifreeze, silicone other gaskets, etc.
