I'm not sure of the point you're trying to make...

AI was a supporting vendor, LE is a supporting vendor....see a trend here? The inconsistency of the application of board rules pertaining to 'vendor privileges' is the only thing that is frustrating to me here...the technical proficiency, good or bad, of anyone mentioned is not my motivation.

I have never bashed the original SUBJECT of this thread - ever, so your comment about things going both ways is, well, irrelevant.

Not really.. you could bash AI as well for spamming me since they were not a sponsor at the time I received the unsolicited E-mail..

News to me, but there is nothing prohibiting them from contacting you off the board that I know of. Now, if they were offering their services on the coattails of another vendor, within the forums on the board, then the relevance is obvious and the actions unfair IMO.

Is there a post anywhere on here where they solicite their product in a thread since they have not been a supporting vendor? It's not a matter of 'sense' - christ, it's not even a gray area. Either they have or they have not.

We both know the answer to that one, and that's why it's not relevant.

Re: Lloyd Elliot Products

Following suit to the first posts......I just wanted to say that since dealing with Lloyd Elliot, (since around mid november) ,when I decided to go with his portwork and a custom ground cam).......Iv'e had nothing but a GREAT experience dealing with him....the portwork was super high quality(just as described), everything was recieved back "on time"....and to boot, Awesome customer service...matter a fact, well after I recieved everything back, and the car was up and running well... thru e-mail, he still spent time and went we'll out of his way recomending just the right gears, exhaust, mufflers, and stall converter to maximize the specific combo...... IME, these are qualitys not found very often in much of anything in any hobby, no-less engine work.......Over the last 17 plus years on many different cars and engine combos(some NA mid 10 second smallblock cars), Iv'e probably delt with close to a dozen people and buisnesses in his field.... In my experiences about 80% of the time or more, there was almost always something to be dissapointed about(many times down right furious ), whether it be with the prideless over-exagerated sub-standard work that was performed, or the lousey customer service that followed like clockwork the minute after they recieved the final payment, or the rediciolus amount of time it took to get the products back, or the cost that would magicly go up considerably as time went on..... Whatever it ended up being, their was almost always one aspect or another that left a really bad taste in my mouth during the dealing with most of them....so much for my ranting we'll almost ...This here that follows is just something that I think needs to be said, more of a "BEWARE" for some of the newer guys to getting engine and head work done, just to "mabe" save someone a headache) One of the biggest trends I see out there right now, are many of these "so-called" buisnesses popping up over the last few years with really nice web-sites and gobbs of great sounding but inaccurate information....some of these guys have almost every picture and product in the world up there, as if they're some huge state of the art longtime reputable buisness with an overhead, when in reality "MANY" are nothing more than guys that spent some cash for nice websites, but who posess almost no real world experience or expertise to back it up , making their living off people who wouldn't know the difference in a pair of heads done by a talented head porter for a specific application, or a kid with a dremmel tool making some bigger ports....it's also funny, some of these places have some of the highest prices out there as well, thus to make people less suspicious to the inferior products and workmanship their getting......over the years I "have" ofcourse delt with a few good companies that I was satisfied with, but none with prices that were very affordable..... as some of the others mentioned, my buisness "also" will continue to be with having Lloyd do any, and all future head work, I really can't think of a reason not to......thanks again for the killer portwork and all the help Lloyd...................Joe
