Its simple math... to make 450 flywheel HP on the stock injectors, programmed at 24.9 #/HR, and running 43.5psi design fuel pressure, and assuming the injectors would continue to operate correctly at 100% DC, you would have to have a brake specific fuel consumption of 0.44 #/HR/HP. It is possible to reach that BSFC with a good tune, I've done it... but to assume that the injectors will perform correctly at 100% DC, and put your engine at risk doing it is just plain dumb. Pour thousands into an engine, and then play Russian roulette with some 24# injectors......

For initial start up, the stock stuff isn't going to hurt a thing.

Get a mail order tune from Ion and some 30lber's. There are some for sale in the Texas section for $175 from Bill. He's a good guy, local to me, and I have bought stuff from him before. I don't see the point of slapping something together half a$$, you're in the home stretch so don't start cutting corners.

That's exactly why I made this thread. I don't want to cut corners. I was unsure about my initial startup with a stock tune and injectors because I didn't want to even risk damaging something. I think I will just buy the bigger injectors and send the PCM in for a tune before I even start it just to be on the safe side.

Thanks a lot guys

You won't damage anything by installing the motor and firing it up, but I don't see the point of putting it together and starting it if you can't drive it and enjoy your hard work. It's like teasing yourself, you have this great motor and car that you really can't drive because you have to ***** foot the gas pedal. Besides even if everything is done and ready to go it will only set you back a week. Ion does core refunds so he can send you one ASAP and you just ship him your old PCM and you get credit. Good luck with everything, be sure to post up a vid when you get it fired up and running!!

I agree, I want to be able to enjoy it right away. I had no idea I could have a tuned PCM sent to me immediatly until mine is done. That's a relief. I'll definately post up a vid when it's done, but I can tell you for sure I'll probably be posting quite a few questions before then lol.
Thanks
