94 Z28 Distrubutor ???

hey guys...i'm having prob with my z28....she was running beautifully but then suddenly she began stalling...I hope im using the right term...but basically the car started shifted into reverse....reverse then car died...after this ...car wouldn't start..I took to the mechanic and they said it might possibly be the distributor ...SO HOW DO I CHECK THAT???

Start by scanning the PCM for codes. A failure of the optical sensor will set codes. A failure of the high voltage section (cap & rotor) will not. But there are many other possible cause of a "no start", and the scan might pick those up. A check of the fuel pressure would also be a good idea.
