But this isn't always the case. Its almost as if someone would be happier going with a heads/cam motor versus a stroker. Yes I do know a well built stroker "should" knock the pants off a .30 overbored motor but from what it looks like its going to be close. Im reffering to HR motors of course. Am I off base with this statement?
It does not impress me either. I sold my LS1 thinking I'd go back to LT1 and just buiild it up, considering a 383 as my next project. After reading 100 posts about strokers and 3:55's making an average of 400RWHP it kinda dissapoints me. I think I may just sell my newly aquired 97 TA and get me another LS1 car due to the fact my cammed LS1 was way faster then most of my friends built LT1's and demolished all the LT1's I have ever owned.

Im trying to keep my chin up about it but Its going to cost me 5k right off the bat just to get it where my LS1 is right now with cam,headers,3:73's,and mail order tune.

After reading this thread I think I just might go to the bank and take out a small loan and buy the Le2 head/cam package wich I have been considering since I spoke with lloyd 3 weeks ago.

Very nice #'s .. Glad to see some are finallly listening when it come's to putting a package together as a entity rather than a throw together h/c setup... Thankfully we have folk's like LLoyd, Bret, and other's to help get us some good power out of the old Gen II motor's..

As far as the stroker's not making no power.. typically a larger displacement motor will not make much more if any power over a smaller displacement motor due to many factor's.. Usually one being head's not large enough to fill the cylinder and 2 under cam'd... I'm sure there are more reason's but that's a whole other topic..

Again Great #'s and thanks for keeping us LT1 guy's visible...

Oh btw my slow bolt on 95 only trapped 109.55 3 yrs ago @3750lbs i'm a fat *** so what

Great numbers! Way to represent the 'ol LT1. I would think 11.50s or better at 120ish with some sticky tires and a good track...Dyno graph looks good...Tweak that tune and run that thing!

Wow, those are awesome numbers.

The 1.7:1 in an interesting approach.
May I ask why you chose that route? (Vs 1.6?)
(That's an honest question, I'm sincerely interested)

Those are really good numbers guys. I want to see some ET's also. I ran 11.60's@117mph with a LE1 heads/cam 355" setup a couple years ago so it should do better than that.I would have to say with a 12bolt and some tires it should run low 11's@120mph or better with his weight and setup just a guess. He had the 1.7's and wanted to do a cam with them. He's doing a little more tweaking to the setup too see what he will get next. Should be interesting.

I'm seeing a lot of people doing 1.7 and 1.8 anymore.
Even GM's new engines are that way.
Funny how technology and designs change over time

I think I saw 1.85 and 1.90 "kits" in a performance catalog last night.
I'm going to have to go find that and reread it once I've had more sleep.

Hard part is with hyd rollers is that the more rocker arm you have the more you load the lifter with the same springs. That's why you see more lifter failtures on LS1's. FWIW I haven't found anything better than a 1.6 for a LT1 hyd roller. Solid setups can benefit more from increased rocker arm, 1.9+ is commonplace.

Update New setup, BRE cam B-rad V.2 , ported intake from lloyd, 3.73 gears, 42 lb injectors.

Car was finished on Saturday around 6pm. I put 300 miles on it over the weekend street racing. I held my own with a 402 LS2 .. No dyno numbers yet and i may not get them. I got on the car yesterday and felt something give, then it started makeing a pretty good noise. I pulled the valve covers to find a little oiling problem into the cylinder. Cylinder 8 plug is oiled out with predetionation dots on it. Fixed that with some MORE jb weld and started it back up, now it doesn't want to idle at all and it makes a clunck about every 4-5 seconds, its not like its every rotation. I almost have the heads off , but im out to bed. Sounds like compressed air is going some where??? Stock bottom end may have gave out thanks to a little lack of attention.

Lloyd/ Bret - I've got all kinds of problems now

It was only a matter of time with a stock, 130k shortblock. Nice numbers though. I would love to see what that thing would run on a 100-150 shot.

I believe he's also running a 9" rear.

Is the BRE Cam B-rad V2 the same as the LE2.2 cam?

Now these numbers is something that I was hoping of achieving.

Good luck on getting the car running again.
