Kooks new LT1 Headers!!
Kooks new LT1 Headers!!
Just received word from Kooks that their LT1 headers are going to be released within a couple of weeks. Here are the details as of right now.
1 3/4 to 1 7/8 stepped, available with a 3" or 3 1/2" collector.
Primary tubes are between 28-32" in length.
The 1 3/4 portion of the primaries is about 4-5" before it steps to 1 7/8".
Stainless steel, top of the line Kooks construction. If any of you are familiar with Kooks, you know that their products are second to none. They're the nicest header my shop deals with. Period. So these will be probably the nicest LT1 headers on the market. And beings they are available with a 3 1/2" collector, they will work with some of the craziest applications.
According to Nick at Kooks, installation is extremely simple. He even ventured to say they're easier to install than their LS1 headers. He said they slide right in, and only require removing 4 spark plugs.
Pricing will be around 780.00 per set. We are taking orders now, so if you'd like to order a set, please give me a call at 281-448-1300, and we'll take care of you

Re: Kooks new LT1 Headers!!
I would like to see a few pictures... i know i may get some gains from those 1 7/8 and 3 1/2 inch collectors, but seeing that i only have a borla, i'm still restricted by this borla...
I would love to see a picture and what type of ceramic coating... what kind of ground clearance??
780 is not a bad deal for that kind of headers and if things go my way i may end up with a set.

Revised pricing SHOULD be as follows. Still not yet official, but it won't be higher than this, I can tell you that.
868.95 for stainless
621.95 for mild steel

Please oh please, let these not exit pointing at the tranny cross member like my Jet-Hots(on the drivers side atleast). I will pick some up come spring time, provided they are as good as they sound.

Re: Kooks new LT1 Headers!!
What is the advantage to going with stepped headers? Plan on going all out with a bolton application and need the most power I can get. Will these make more power than a hooker LT on a bolt on car? Would a 3.5" collector be too much or will it gain me a lot of power up top? How will ground clearance be with the 3.5" collectors? Let me know. I am interested in these.
