Knock sensor bypass for OBDII

I found the correct resistor to use to bypass the knock sensor for the ODBI but it was followed up with a post saying will not work on OBDII. Does anyone know the correct resistor to do this with? I am not wanting to buy an LT4 KM, I just want to try the resistor out. Thanks for the help.

93k-107k ohms is the resistance range of the OBD-II knock sensor. You better know what you are doing if you are going to bypass it.

Thanks shoebox. I know the risk of the system not dectecting knock, but this is false knock. Thanks for your warning.

whats the worse that can happen anyway...well besides the engine taking a dump....but on a overall stock engine is there much of a downside.

Detonation, leading to cracked ring lands on a brittle stock hypereutectic piston.

Yeah and you could play with the timing all day to get it right.

You want an LT4 knock module... not an LT4 knock sensor. The LT4 used the same knock sensor as all the OBD-II LT1's. Its the little chip/module that goes into the PCM that you swap out with the LT4 knock module. It simply filters out the noise generated by the full roller rockers that were used on the LT4's.

On top of getting the LT4 module. If you still have problems, and know it is not real knock you can also talk to whoever does your tuning about de sensitizing the knock sensor some. (I have heard they can do that.)

On a side note I remember one guy having problems with the LT4 knock module. I have it, and have not had problems. I have had an exhaust leak, that gave me false knock retard before. I was watching it via LT1 scanmaster.
