Knock Sensor

Im getting around to installing my 385ci Solid Roller back into the car and I was curious if I really needed to install the knock sensor back in the side of the block since my block is now half filled? Just curious if it would read accuratley or not..

You'll get a SES code and the PCM will pull out timing if the knock sensor circuit is not in place. The system can be disabled with a resistor to ground if you choose not to use the sensor.

Knock sensor will pick up a huge amount of noise from the solid roller cam, and the hard-block will make it that much worse - its going to surround the KS. Leave the KS out and have it tuned out of the PCM.

I've been running an 800HP solid roller nitrous motor for 6 years without a knock sensor. Just make sure your tuner knows what he's doing.
