Re: Jegs Performance Tool Universal Harmonic Balancer Puller/Installer
As stated a 3 jaw puller works well. For re installation a piece of 7/16 -20 all thread and a few nuts and washers works wonders and is also way cheaper.
Re: Jegs Performance Tool Universal Harmonic Balancer Puller/Installer
I think you guys mean a crow (or duck) foot puller, not a jaw puller. A jaw puller grabs onto something without bolts, like this.
Re: Jegs Performance Tool Universal Harmonic Balancer Puller/Installer
I've used a jaw puller to remove the LT1 pulley/balancer and the hub on separate occasions. You can borrow it from Autozone for free which is what I did.
Re: Jegs Performance Tool Universal Harmonic Balancer Puller/Installer
The tool in shoebox's illustration looks to remove the pulley in the same way. Probably the same tool we are talking about only with the arms turned around. Safer actually. But yes I always just use a three jaw puller and grab the pulley on the outside instead of the inside.
