which intake is best?
which intake is best?
i got a 96 z28 auto with traction control so i cant buy the k&n intake which leaves me wondering which intake would be best for my car i want the most power i can get! so is it better to get the ss hood and then put that hood intake that goes with it?? or get a different intake?? i mean is there really a big difference if i get the ss hood intake or just get a regular cold air itake by slp?? plz and comments or tips thanks !
Cold air intakes all carry about the same gains. I wouldn't recommend getting an SS hood with the airbox, because why spend that much money? The "ram air" effect doesn't work as well as it may seem, and a CAI will probably yeild the same gains if not more.
I have an SLP cold air and I love it for the fact that it looks freaking sweet. I hear the metal tubes can get heat soaked, but I don't think that's too much of a worry. Hope I helped you out a little!

Same here. So why can't you run a k&n on your 96?? It will work fine, no matter what intake you get. k&n, moroso, slp, homemade... I wouldn't spend the money on a hood and the ss intake. The gains would be minimal in any.

If you want to do a ram-air conversion, the cost of the hood, paint, and the actual airbox will set you well over a grand where you can pick up a very good cold air intake that will make the same power for under two hundred bucks.
