I got the same tall valve covers with the boxes in them for pcv and mine have no problems clearing you probably got a loose rocker. Adjust the rockers first and at least get a mail order tune. If your running rich your just gona blow some smoke when you drive and be down on power, if your running lean you may get the pistons too hot or heads and probably tear something up.
