Ignition Fuse problem

Well last year our ignition fuse blew a couple times...i don't remember what our mechanic did but we fixed it. Now it's doing it again, it'll drive fine for 20mns then all of a sudden the car will die and the fuse is blown. My neighbor (a mechanic), said we could try putting a 15amp instead of a 10amp in the fuse.

Think that will make a difference?

Re: Ignition Fuse problem

i wouldent reccomend doing that, it could cause a fire, there may be a something loose or a hot wire intermitanly grounding itself out, find the problem and fix it the right way. a 15 amp fuse is just a temporary fix

Re: Ignition Fuse problem

You may have cut open the wire harness and trace the wires all the way back to the PCM. Sometimes the wires within the harness stick together from age and heat. It's a slow process but has to be done.

Don't substiture a larger fuse unless you really want wiring problems. Trace out the pink wire to the coil and ICM to be sure it is in good shape.

I have the LTCC setup and they suggest using larger amp ratings without there being any trouble. Is this a bad idea?
