I can't remember the details.... the stock engine/Honker CAI came out of my car in 1999. I think there was at least a 20degF difference between the IAT reading and the temperature measured right in front of the TB (through the hole drilled in the elbow for my dry nitrous nozzle) with a Radio Shack remote temp sensor - yes I sealed around the wire to prevent cold air from entering the hole in the elbow. At the time, my underhood temps seemed extremely excessive, running a set of coated JBA headers. It wasn't as bad before the headers. I even pulled the gasket off that seals the hood to the cowl to help get the heat out - not recommended for wet climates.
