that would be a case of you knowing how to drive your car better than your friend. ls1's have tons of power, not everyone can handle it, even if they think they can.

Automatics arent that hard to drive I know excuses will fly, but oh well, I know what happened, and the driver You make it sound like LS1's have 500 horsepower out of the box!

Teal probly is great at driving a stick. Everyone on this board is mod crazy, alot of guys on here need to learn to drive lol ... I've seen a few guys on here that have stock M6 LT1 times of as good as even 13.6@102ish .... quite a few more in the 13.7 to 13.8 ... I personally dont think its so much that one is a factory freak and the others are average at 13.9's and 14/0's , but more the fact that only a few guys can really pound their LT1's to the limits and are great at driving sticks ... Theres no way a LT1 is making the power of an LS1, yet like 5 ppl on this board who are stock are running LS1 times, and in LS1 tech there are some guys pulling less then 13's stock, ... Its all because theyre great at shifting/launching ... Teal probly can throw 60' times like no other ... Race him before you guys call bs ... No mods are better then excellent driving

my freinds 2000 ss will bark 3rd, with 275 tires...my car wont bark third with 245's, but i can out run him by about 2 car lengths to 100 mph...and thats car, not driver, becuase in between shifts, my car pulls on his

BTW, those dyno numbers in my sig are before the ram air, and the exhaust (LT's, true dual with single chamber flows)

Sounds like the car is running good. Enjoy.

Unless there is something messed up with the shift points, causing the chirp.

There's only one way to mess up shift points in an M6

I am pretty tired about hearing of "factory freaks". More or less, this ain't gonna happen. Deviations from spec will almost certainly make a car slower, not faster. Kind of like spontaneous mutations in bio systems - they are very seldom advantageous.

Now, if you are talking about cars that aren't brand new, the condition will have a lot to do with how much hp they make. And even if you are talking new cars, remember that 4th gens came with a a variety of rear ends as well as some tranmission variants, slightly different cams from year to year, different cat setups, etc. The actual hp probably varied a bit more than the rated hp suggests. There are also weight differences between different cars based on the accessories. And of course, the driver weight will differ, also causing performance variations. And there is the batch-fire/speed density '93 vs. the sequential/MAF setup on the '94's and up.

A rational explanation of which stock variant is the quickest and fastest would be interesting. I don't enough of the nitty gritty details of the variations to know the answer myself. Probably the fastest will be some variant of the '95 or earlier 1LE due to the weight factor. But I mean besides these.

I love reviving old threads. See if I hadn't we would have missed out on the wisdom of rskrause

Here's a quick off the wall question. Why does my Throttle Body say MPFI on the bottom as if it is advertising Multi-Port Fuel Injection?

Into third at 65 ? sounds like you got gears !!!! My car ran over 100 in third w/3:23's . Now its round 60-70 into third w/410's so it sounds common ...No traction in 1st ....another indication , although mine did that w/3:23's Im sure your car still runs strong

If its an auto , you just push the gas ....I have seen auto LS1's run 14.3 at the track ..Although most of them have a ton of power like you said .....
