At least someone agrees with me on the fact that factory freaks don't exist.

GM doesn't magically install the wrong camshaft, 1.6 rockers, or a specifically tuned exhaust system with matching long-tube headers, or accidentally slap on some kind of forced induction. All f-bodies (LS1 or LT1, respectively) are built on the exact same assembly-line, while the motors are being built somewhere else, on the exact same assembly line. Each motor and car is built to be identical to the vehicle in front, and behind it, on the line. If they were built differently, we would have all known about it.

Every car is equal to another when it comes off the line. It's what happens between it's birthdate and the day you have an incident which gives you an assumption of whether it's a "turd" or a "freak" that's important.

I was not saying that GM "magically" put lt4 heads or cam on my car or anything. I was just "expressing" my "happiness" with my car. until now, i was not aware that this was forbidden to some of you A$$es. I feel like ive used " " to much in this but i dont care

No no no...I wasn't trying to insult you, or direct my comments toward you in any way negative. I just wanted to voice my opinion on the subject. You're blessed with a strong-running car, there's no denying that! No need to go ahead and start people asses...

I'm not one to pick a fight...in fact...I'm probably the last person on this board who wants to **** someone off, so if I offended you in any way, I apologize.

Good luck with your car.

I do think there are a few very rare freaks out there, I have very weak evidence but what the hay. [switching to the dirt bike world] Ive never found an explanation as why my 1989 honda cr80 (bone stock and bone original) was able to beat a bored 2001 rm80 with exhaust and intake, and a very experienced rider on board. By the way in dirt bikes the piston and ring is a yearly wear part. My piston and ring is original in a 14 yr old bike. OK thats my weak evidence

Taking care of a car does make a huge difference.

My car is stock except for whats in my sig, and ive never chirped my zr-1s in 3rd (but im sure i could if I wanted to via powershifting) I will say that I have almost no traction in first when I launch it either. (3.42s)

In my opion GM was the most inconsistant auto maker on the planet! You have duds and you have cars. And as far as assembly line goes, lets say the valves in the heads whats to say someone threw in a couple extra turns for laughs. Valvetrain is where the power is and the person who ajusted the valves could have done a better job on 1 and not another. There isnt a way in the world that there is two exact valve trains. Thats my opion

I've Chirped 3rd in my almost stock A4... Usually if the roads a "tad" moist it'll do it and even moreso if its nice and cool outside. Normally on a hot dry day it peels nicely into 2nd but not into 3rd.

Someone better fire some robots then!

Just messing man. No human hand touches the valvetrain during assembly.

I would kick the rear out just little bit into 3rd when I was bone stock with a stock clutch(60k).

The clutch has alot to do with it, my old '88 5.0 would chirp 4th at like 80mph. I had a "King Cobra" clutch set. The car didn't make more than 220rwhp.

Dirtbike guy, The CRs were always known to be the fastest bikes until around '01-'02. Also, different manufacturers use different gearing, even on the same size bikes.

Yeah, the chirp factor's idiotic. Half the chirp you're hearing is probably from the engine catching back up to the rearend. Negative chirp if you ask me. That actually cause you to lose momentum. Take it to the strip a few times and see what it runs. Then you'll know a little better

BTW: Teal94ZThat ones for you! Wait....here's another
And on that note I bring back an old post of mine. Read it well....

Ok , after watchin this one for a while, its my turn to chime in ... I think this way about factory freaks ...

1~Did you buy your car brand new? Did you properly break it in? That makes a HUGE difference ... I had a quad LT250, rebuilt 2 weeks before i bought it, SLUG, not nuts at all when it shoulda been screamin ... Last winter i rebuilt it ( Yearly thing ) , well jsut the top end, and afterwards i broke it in properly, it pulled WAY harder ...

Also i know for a fact that it really was rebuilt 2 weeks before i bought it because I helped the kid with the rebuild ...

So my theory is its all in the break in ...

Also, as a side note, otehr "freaks" i think are not so much that their BETTER then all the other, but their matched to specs perfectly, where as "normal" engines were possibly a thousandth off here or there for something ...
