Thanks for your kind words and your unbais understanding, but im not going to be drawn into a name calling contest. you can yell at your shadow all you want. its not going to get you anywhere. Even if i started the thread too early like you CLAIM that doesnt change the fact that i was a victim of bad bussiness practice. i will be amazed if this gets settles in less than a month. thank you and good day.

I don't know how a big GM Parts Dept. works, but................every GM part I ever mail ordered came in its' own box packed directly by GM or one of thier suppliers. Or, if it were a non-boxed part (like a sway bar or something like that) it had a computer generated label attached. Seems like this process could get you the wrong part, but it seems strange that it would produce a correct but used part??? I suppose it could still happen, of course, but it makes me wonder.

I can envision a counter customer returning a replaced starter for a core refund, in the original box. The counter guy gets confused and puts the new looking box with an old starter on the shelf.

Bad64chevelle..is all you really can say...man, that was something Why don't you go pay $10 and become a supporting member and then you can yank people about their avatar...then well talk.
captain_foustas...don't even try to play the victim crap...the only thing your a victim of what...being a big baby You clearly stated that you attempted to get a hold of him over a holiday weekend and were upset about that. What the heck...someone actually having a life and not working on a holiday weekend. Most would clearly get the part locally if they really needed it..eh?
I pick up all my GM parts that I purchase from Dal locally, met him a few times, he actually tries to help people...I am sure your silly little post will have no effect on people buying from him.

with a starter that greasy dont you think the box would have been greasy from the mechanic using his greasy hands to open the box and then closing the box up...yea me too....
clean box and dirty part and no smuges during being slapped around during shipping has me believing whole hartedly the guy is a crook...may be right may be wrong...but thats what i believe....
and if this guy can call a company screwing him before even giving them a chance to straighten it (although i dont believe there was anything to straighten)
then i believe those of us that believe that is trying to get away with stealing can openly say so also....
i for one have never bought anything from dal.hell i dont even know who he works for..but having run a parts department for a nissan store i know how things are done on that end...and i call

Like many others, I try very hard to keep me and my shop clean. Dirt kills mechanical parts.
When something is greasy, I drop it in a drain pan to keep it from getting everything else greasey. Wash my hands, get the new part and install it.
I also wear mechanix gloves while working on my cars, most of the time ...

most mechanics wear glove... prehapes whomever handled dirty parts.. used gloves to put the part in the box, and took them off to package the item up... makes sense? why have greasy hands when you want to box up an item? you smudge everything up... DUGGGGHHHHHHHH DUUUUHHHH!!!
leave the guy alone... get off his case... He gets a turd sent to him...when he is in dire need of a running car...and was cleary frustraighted as anyone would be. So he can't contact the dealer right away.. and he can't drive his anger off (obviously)... so why not use the free time to post about the event? I don't blame him...
Now he calls DAL up and dal gives him a speech and a sob story because of the situation.... and now he's all of a sudden the bad guy...???
I 've been reading up on this post for a while but didn't want to comment... untill I see stuff bashing the guy...
An angry customer has the right to do what ever they want... it's up to the Managers and staff to make things right. A dissatisfied customer is suppossed to be angry but... it only gets worse if the situation is handled in an unprofessional manner where the blame is pointed at the customer...rather than the organization at the dealer... who's fault is it really???
Captain flourist is just like the rest of us... he just want's his car running good and is going broke getting there... no need to pour salt in his wounds...
