I keep hitting rev limiter in an auto

It is deffinately slipping... The 4L60E ALMOST never hits the revlimiter, unless it is on it's way down the crapper.

Causes

The primary cause for converter failure is crap (metal, clutch material, broken stuff) that exits the failing tranny and enters the converter fins with a most haneous objective.

My car hits the rev limiter from 1-2 and 2-3. It drives me insane, I need to make it stop. What about deleting the torque manegment? Help!!

Should I just smoke the trans I've got in my car untill it dies? Or should I try a shift kit? Cooler?

my tranny did this for about a week. i changed the fluid and filter and haven't had any problems with it since. good luck

A friend of mine has the exact same problem.

He had the rev limiter raised to 6400, and voila. No more problem. Need proof?

I raised my rev limiter to 6300 and that helped for a little while. Then I lowered my shift points and that helped for a little while. Now I am back to where I was. What would I have to replace on the trans to take care of this?
