We're running 275/60/15's on 8" rims on my dad's '73. They fit the rims pretty good. I think you can even go up to a 295/50, but that's probably getting a little too wide for the rims. Are you planning on putting these on your 94 (4th gen) though? Maybe you wouldn't fit something that big then?

Well, hope that helps you somewhat.

Good rule of thumb is no more than 2"-2.5" wider than the rim. After that the tire foot print starts to bow and the rims can start to split.

Do you really mean fit on the rim or fit on the car? The 28x12.5x15 would fit ok on the rim, though the footprint would be a little narrower than on a wider rim.

Dunno, but for any tire fitment question, check with the tire manufacturer for the appropriate combo - http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.html

I was running 26:x10.5" ET Streets on my 15"x8" Draglites last year. I stepped up to 26"x11.5" ET Streets on the same rim this year. They fit in the wheelwell with a 5 1/2" backspace rim.
