Case of beer to who gets my car to start

Here is wthe breakdown

1.) installed cam and itstarted. running rough at idle but it is a big cam for stock stall and stock programming. runs for 20 min or so kept the idle around 1k (day 1 night)
2.) change oil, start it and itruns. chekc pressure, all good, no leaks either. (next day night)
3.)start the car this morning, then run it up to 1k then i fully compresss the pedal, and it wont go past 1k. WTF? (this morning)
4.) turnthe car back on, leave at idle, get out and play with the throttle up front. seems to go higher and then i let it off and it stalls.
5.) never starts back up.
6.) throw in new program. still no start
7.smells flooded kinda, keep pedal to the floor and try. nothing

it sounds like it wants to start. there is a hint of it actually sounding like a started engine but never tuns over.

your opti wasn't put on correctly-

you put it on, it wasn't flush then you got it flush by torquing down the down the bolts.

Take it off, get it flush then torque it down.

Bud light. Bottles. PM me for my mailing addy

Did you measure the opti drive pin before install. If too long, could of tore up the opti.

I guess your sending TreyZ28 some money, if he wants it, because you cant really ship a case a beer to well, nor is worth it.

good luck either way

Make sure you didn't cross any plug wires.

No winner yet. I put the opti on and made sure it was flush before i installed the bolts. I also made sure that the dowel pin was in the correct slot.

So you guys do think it is the opti though? It is the stock one with 45k.

Could be. My stock opti crapped out right after my cam swap. I'm talking within days!

I'd still do the usual spark testing at the plug wires though, also check to make sure you have no crossed wires. Been there with that one too (even after checking, rechecking, etc..)

My problem seems to be similar to yours. just had cam and new opti intalled 1 month ago and still can't find the problem. mine doesn't die all the time when i let of the throttle at high rpm's but it seems that it wants to. when it does die it takes a while to start and when does black smoke comes out and stinks.

Well at least we seem to know it is the opti. I am going to try starting it again tonight and then tomorrow I will go get a new one from Autozone. Need some new waterpump gaskets now too. I should have just replaced it when Iwas in there.

So who gets the beer?

I'm the closest. You won't have to mail it, I'll just pick it up.
