I vote for the CSI unit. It's a bit cheaper and easier to install. Mine is going in as we speak. I got approx 86,000 miles on my original pump. Car has approx 209,000 miles now and this is the 3rd pump (original was 1st one). Not bad for a Texas car.

80k when mine went. Changed the opti too. If you want to go electric, I hear its a little more fab work than just throwing the pump on. I'm not a believer in electric waterpumps, too much hassle for too little gain. At least the stocker can warn you its on its way out....

Mine had 134k on it when I changed the opti and put a new pump on because it was old, it still was working ok though.

I still got the stock WP but with the CSI kit on it. Only reason I put the CSI on it was that I had to take it off to change the Opti for the third time. Three Opti's in 60K miles is pretty crappy, even by Opti standards. Car now has 75K miles and is still running good, guess I finally got a decent one.

hmmm there's allot of incosistant times for Water pump failures. My Z's been overheating. At first I thought it was the Lower Valence but even when idle and 2 feet off the ground with the hood open temperatures still raising. I guess time to change the pump and get a lower thermo to cover my azz. At 54K on the dash It's time to start replacing things. Everythings else is is A-OK.

Got 58K on mine and my pump is slowly going out. Going to replace it on wed and hope everything goes well. Might as well fix it now before it kills the opti and costs me more $.

Mine went out at 94k miles, it leaked and destroyed my Opti, which caused my car to run like crap. LoL finally relplaced both parts and its running like a champ again. If you ever replace the Opti you might as well replace the water pump why your down there, because when the water pump goes so does the opti, unless you catch it really really quick as I here.

If your Z is over heating, I would check the thermostat first. They tend to lock up. I've noticed the hypertech 160 will also lock up (two of mine did it, same for my friend's 93). My Mr. Gasket 160 hasn't given me any problems though. I would invest $10-15 for a new stat before I bought a new waterpump.
