Timing Chain

Will any chevy small block timing chain work for a lt1? Or will you always have to modify the timing cover and sprokets?

It will not work without modding your waterpump gear and having a electric water pump......

It comes with its own sprokets.
Lunati has a new timing set for LT1, also GMPP LT4 and LT4 extreme duty are other options.

AFAIK, the Cloyes double roller is a SBC style and will not run the water pump either.

You must get a set that is specifically made for the LT1 to be able to use the stock water pump.
