ok i reassemble the car and when i tryed to start the car it turned over but if i pressed the gas pedal it would stall. it seems like the timing is not correct. i'm not sure if i lined the cam dowel with the oval ond the opti drive. also i dont know if i put the #1 cylinder at tdc (if that would make a difference?). could someone please give me detailed instructions on how to achieve tdc and the proper way to line the cam shaft dowel with the opti drive. i loved the instructions i already recieved. i feel very comfortable with the removal process and don't mind taking it back apart. i just need a little more detail about the opti and lining up the harmonic balancer and hub

Ok, you don't have a sig, but you said earlier you have a 1993. Did you do a vented opti conversion?

Then you need to include that information.

You don't need to put anything at TDC. All you need to do is get the cam dowel in the correct hole in the back of the Opti - per Shoebox's instructions, and the timing will be 100% correct.

i just need a little more detail about..... lining up the harmonic balancer and hub
The stock damper is not keyed, and can actually move on the crank. Try and get the arrow pointed in the right direction, but its not critical, because its basically a damper, not a balancer.

Thanks for all the advice. You guys saved me a lot in repairs( good for the state the economy is in right now). I line everything up and its now running pretty good. I don't know if this will help anyone but there is a small hole drilled in the opti drive shaft and its in line with the hole that should go over the cam dowel. It made it a lot easier for me to make sure I had the opti in the right position. Just thought maybe that would help someone else. Again thanks. You guys are a true blessing
