Is the hot cam kit the best bang for the buck?
I bought a CC503, Pac 1518 springs, and all the other crap that goes with a valvetrain rebuild and spent about $1K. From what I've read, that set up is better than the Hot Cam kit. Do a search and read up on the cams. Hopefully the damn thing will be ready before the F******N snow flies so I can drive the god damn thing and see what the piece of crap car can do after the God Damn thing is rebuilt. I'll be sure to post results of all the work and F*****N money I've sunk into the POS Z-28 I now own. (forgive me for my anger....the car has spent more time sitting in my drive way with a spun main bearing than it's been driven)
Just kidding. So how much horse power will I gain over the 503 with the le1 or le2 setup?
Just for reference. I went from an 8.76 in the 1/8th to a 8.28 by switching out my 2.73's to 3.73's and an untuned hotcam, this was on Nitto's with a bone stock suspension. My best 1/4 to date is 13.01 with a trap of 106.5, 60ft hasnt been any better than 1.9x's with the Nittos. I am also running a pretty much stock converter. I have since added LCA's and M/T ET radials and I am shooting for a 12.8. Hoping for around a 12.5 with a good 10" converter.
