I did a lot of searching trying to find stories about high mileage and cam installs. I am about to do headers, along with a full tuneup. I also need to fix the infamous intake leak. I picked up a very low mileage hotcam from a buddy for 100 bucks. I plan on doing a LE package this winter on a fresh short block, but would like to see if i can dip into the 12's with the hotcam since i got it cheap.

So, any horror stories of high mileage cars biting it with a cam install?

I am assuming, the hotcam, headers,catback, CAI,madz28 tune is enough to propel me to 12's.

 

Id save and do everything together w/ a good rebuilt...No use in modding up a high mile motor if your gonna have to tear it down in the not so distant future for a rebuild...thats just my opinion
