I called the guy I bought it from and he wouldn't take it back however he did agree to pay for a bunch of the repairs. I'm faxing over the laundry list tomorrow. Said he cares about his reputation so lets see how much he pays for.

Just out of curiosity who gave you that phone call? Was it the same mechanic? It couldn't hurt to get an outside opinion especially when it's a bill that high.

I had it looked at a dealership for an official print out. I plan on taking the print out to another mechanic and have him make the estimate, the guy I bought it from wanted to see the print out as well. However the chevy dealership qouted 3400.

Yeah defiently get a second third or forth opinion before you jump into a $3400 bill. Also look in your manual and see what you and your dad could possible do yourselves to slim down the bill a little. Good luck with your car, it sucks to have that happen to you. I bought a 98 C-280 Benz and within 2 months it doubled in price.

Well the leak from the intake was there before the oil leaks.... I have a feeling when it over heated thats possibly when oil sending unit and the front and rear seals went. I didn't notice the oil leaks until after it over heated, I doubt the oil leaks were there before it overheated cause I'm positive I looked, although at this point its been over 2 weeks since I had the car on the road so my memory is starting to fade on details.
