Hmm maybe I shouldn't have done that....

Did a burn out last night, small one in a parking lot and ONLY one. I've had the car for about a 5 weeks and have since done one burn out and one donut. Anyway after doing this burnout my z28 has been bogged down. Below 2000 rpm there is little power, and past 2000 rpm it sounds like its bogged down. It is noticably slower, and I don't know why. There is no way just doing that burn out could have done it? I mean it only lasted maybe 5 second.

Could anyone help me explain this?
By the way the computer isnt throwing any codes.

I doubt your problem has anything to do with doing burnouts or donuts. Such things are in the nature of a camaro.

Maybe you just finished wearing off the outtermost coating on new tires(which is usually pretty slick) and since you used to spin, it will hook and thus bog down now?

Is traction control on?

That wouldn't cause the engine to sound bogged down or have little power below 2000 rpm under normal driving.

How do you know it has no codes? Did you scan it? The lack of an SES light does not mean it does not have a code.

You didn't mention if you have an A4 or M6?????? Possible clutch or tranny problem??? Have you checked any fluids lately?

Have you checked for things that may have come loose or off? Intake elbow, etc..... The first thing I check when an LT1 comes by for the first time is intake elbow at the TB. Most times, it's folded under.

Grab the battery and see if like 90% of the F bodies I see, the clamp is broke. I've seen batteries rock so far that the pos terminal touches ground and can cause alternator problems but that usually shows other problems until the battery goes dead like dim lights etc.....

The fluids looked ok, and it is an A4. My Z is currently at my local tranny shop having some things done not related to this (Failed inspection for "an unsafe shifter column" that I could pop in an out of gear without applying brakes.) I told them about the problem and they said they would look into it. They only work on transmissions so we will see how far that gets me. I do have a scanner but I haven't hooked it up yet, and the SES light hasnt come on. I just would figure something like that it would ome on.

I'm sure you notice the ses light illuminate when you first turn the key on when you go to crank it up, that would rule out the burned out light / bad connection.

check your plug wires, even though it was a small burn out, could have heated up the manifolds and burned a wire.

Yea the SES light is good, comes on before I crank it. I mean the car starts normally, When I rev it in park or nuetral it seems fine. Only when it's in gear does it do this.

HELP!

Car will not rev past 3k now, EXTREMELY BOGGED DOWN. Feels as if it is ready to die while driving, I barely made it home from the transmission shop (this problem was there before I had my work done) I have suspect this could have something to do with opti any opinions? I need help I have a feeling wherever I take it next will be my last trip before it craps out completely and I really dont have the money for a tow.

Chekc your oil for metal flakes, prolly spun a bearing or broke something down to where it's starting to go bad.

Thats pretty much how my opti went. I would get it scanned, if its running like that I bet it has definatly thrown a code. FWIW the SES light doesn't comeon all the time, certain codes won't set it off.

I would day it is probly your fuel pump or cloged cats.

start the car and go to the back of the car and listen to the exhaust for a hissing sound, and make sure your getting good exhaust presure.

to test the fuel get a fuel gauge from the auto parts store and hooked it up behind the intake to the schard you should have around 38-42 psi (not sure of the exact number)

How quickly did your opti go on you? I mean in total this happened with about 2-3 hours of driving time over a few days.

Could be the opti...however if it is, I bet the car acting up after the burnout is purley coincidental. Both my and my friend's car cap/rotor starting acting up on the same day after going to the same gas station so we assumed we got a bad batch of gas...we weren't so lucky.

First make sure it's getting fuel....then diagnose the ignition.
