The breaker is in the fuse box on the corner of the dash wene you open the door.
It kind of like a fuse that resets itself when it blows.
It takes more power to raise the window than to lower it.

Oh so it's just a fuse? If it is just a fuse then if it blew wouldn't that stop the window from going up and down at all? Meaning it would cut the power from going past the fuse...right? mmmmm I'll go check just in case.

Thanks

mmmmmmmm I see the breaker thingie. Could I just replace that with a regular 30amp fuse just to see if that really is the problem?

can you check and see how much voltage and ground you have at the motor witn a multi meter?

it is possible that it's not sdusted properly and it rubbing on either end of teh track causing friction. I used to have a site that showed how to adust it but I lost it. anyone have that site?

If you think it could be the switch somehow now working properly, try and get the passenger side switch and plug it into the drivers side one so you could rule that out. Maybe something with the scissors in the door? I know you said you greased it already, but maybe its rusted at the joints and is putting a lot of strain on the motor? Also check and make sure you window rattle plates are not pushing too hard on the glass, that could also cause it to have trouble going up. Good Luck!

No, I don't think that it could be the switch because if I use the driver side switch it does the same thing. I'll check the window plates tomorrow. And the scissors I'm not too sure cause it's hard to see them since they are behind the door panel the way they are.

Any new I deas??

I appreciate your replies.

When you have the door panel off, use a mirror to see if the flat wound spring on the regulator (scissors thingy) is intact. It takes some of the load from the weight of the window and if broken, would cause it to be hard to raise up.

I had this problem with my drivers side. The guy at the shop put a new motor in and he would run it up and down a million times would not fail. I would roll my window down drive five miles and it wouldn't roll back up after that.

It ended up being the auto express switch/relay under the dash.

The window would work fine most of the time as long as I stopped the window from going all the way down. What was happening was when the auto express ran the window down it would not cut off the motor. So it literally burned up the motors. On the second motor I drove it about five miles and when I got to where I was going there was smoke pouring out of the door.

After the guy replaced the auto express relay it worked for quite a while. Now I think I might get a new track put in....(rivets falling out of door)

If you are having the same thing happening you may be getting perfectly fine window motors. I had an awesome motor in the second time...ran the window up and down like a champ!!!

Good luck with this and let me know what fixes it!
