The NHRA rules say you have to have a power cut off switch. You don't have to run a wire from the alt. to the battery.

You don't want a lot of current running through that factory distribution block. With the resistance of the longer wires and all the current being pulled right there at that one spot, it could get hot and maybe start a fire. If you are not grounding the battery, you are not completing the circuit. You have to run a wire from the negitive on the battery to the chasis.
