You should get your computer tuned even if you get a cc503/hotcam/etc.

Look iv said this a few times that i will be getting headers and already have a exshaust. I forund some ported LT1 heads with 2.02/1.6 vales for 250+shipping so i thought that would be a good thing to buy. Then i wanted to know if i get the heads should i go with a bigger cam? If so please tell some? I heard alot about the 306cc? I have the harness and the computer it is complete and it came with the motor. How much would a tune cost? Iv been told around 500? Getting it looked through is a good idea i will try and talk to them about that.
thanks
kevin

Around $500 for a full dyno tune, but you can get a mail order tune for something like $100-$125.

read through this

http://www.superchevy.com/technical/...des/index.html

its a caprice that they built. Show what the different mods gained in ET and MPH

also, a mail order tune, you send in your computer, they put the new tune on it, and sent it to you.

With any cam, you NEED a tune, otherwise you run a risk of damaging your motor. You will also more than likely need new fuel injectors.

I suggest before you do anything, you go through several thread of people upgrading. I know about a year and a half ago on here (maybe longer than that now) there was a COMPLETE list of everything you would need for a cam swap

then if i get them heads the 306cc if not the 503cc

Dose anyone have anything that they would change?

remember, with the cam you are going to NEED
springs, pushrods, locs, retainers, new rocker arms, and im sure theres more that i am missing

i sent mine to pcmforless.com bryan herter is a very stand up guy, and if you have datamaster and can datalog it, you can send him the datalogs and he will correct the tune as needed.

about to buy this cam? what you think he said it was between the 305cc and the 306cc. Then all this to.

Comp Cams Pro Magnum 1.6 Roller Rockers(NSA) with Poly Locking nuts
7/16" screw in studs
Guide plates
hardened pushrods
have a nice cam for the LT1 for sale 230/236 HR113. Lift is 0.544/0.554 with 1.6 rockers. Its inbetween the CC305 and the CC306.

I think it will be good?

thanks
