Yo

I know Long Tubes produce more hp, but don't they keep the gases in the primaries longer and create backpressure that reduces torque? So wouldn't we be better off with shorties? Considering Torque is what wins 1/4 races anyway...

Yo

You said it... but didn't give any reasons why Shorties aren't better. LT's are just longer... I need some tech information please.

shorties dont flow as well, tubes arent as big, etc. when i got my true duals i put on Jet Hot cermaic coated headers and the shop that did mine told that another guy had the same set up and he dyno'd with 25 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels.

i can tell a difference when i put the LT's on, i had MAC shorties, and i didnt like them.

shorties also typically run through the stock ypipe and cats..which can be a restriction...

any way you cut it...LT's will out perform shorties

unless you are talking about which one performs better for the environment

There was a great thread a while back about midlength headers vs. LT's
I think you will find it if you search on it.

Lot's of good info with links to REAL data. Not guys telling you that LT's make more power.
