Exhaust questions ... Which exhaust is best for me?
Exhaust questions ... Which exhaust is best for me?
Currently I'm stock with the exception of a FRA mod and eventually I'm going to get a lid or volant intake, whichever route I decide...
Option 1 - Longtube Headers / Hi Flow Cats, 2.5inch Pipes / X Pipe - over the Axel with GMMG Chambered Mufflers (Or bullets if size becomes a concern...) W/ Quad Tips...
or
Option 2 - Longtube Headers - Catted Y-Pipe, 3" I-Pipe / Catback
I've heard option 1 netted up to 40 extra rwhp and sounded better...
The exhaust shop however told me while Option 1 was more powerfull, I wouldn't beable to get an X-Pipe because he says he believes I'm just in it for horse power and plus space concerns... Is he correct? And would the lack of an X-Pipe make a tremendous difference in sound and make it sound like crap?
However I heard in another thread that Option 1 would provide me absolutely no gain from Option 2 and Option 2 would be cheaper...
Would Option 2 sound just as good as Option 1? If not then I'm definately going Option 1 as it's alot more uncommon...
Can I get an estimate / price difference of how much it would cost to do both of these?
Shop quoted me $775 for option 1 (Labor / Pipes / Mufflers) without the X-Pipe meaning it will be around $1,000 when I include headers... Is this a good deal?
Also is there anyplace I can get GMMG chambered mufflers?
