Well, my buddy dropped by and we tinkered with the steering column. Now there's just enough clearance . Thanks for the help everyone.

Thats what I did too, you can remove the three bolts holding the column in the firewall and move the whole thing some. You can also longate the holes to buy more distance if needed.
