well the codes were for the MAF sensor and the crank position sensor. we checked the connections and continuities and..half the stuff my buddy was saying was over my head, I hate electrics & wiring but he's wondering if my PCM is alright. I don't see how it could of gotten fried but there might be a loose connection some where. we checked all the fuses and cleared the codes after that and fired it up twice and no codes popped up. he's gonna check some stuff out at work and think about a couple of things and try to figure it out tomorrow.

MAF code is probably from you running it with it unplugged. You can search for CPS sensor code to see what it means. I had it once and can't remember exactly what it means. IIRC, it's something to do with the opti and CPS values don't match. I don't believe a faulty CPS will causing stalling though, that's mainly due to opti issues.

update: I did the opti test from shbox's site and it turns out I'm not getting any volts at terminal D(pink and black wire) which is the distributor reference low signal at the opti harness. I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly now, that means it must be severed or pinch some where between the harness and the PCM correct? its not a problem somewhere else like the coil or anything? tia!

^also should this dist ref low signal wire be reading ~10volts DC or be pulsing mV's AC? shbox's site says 10v DC but I've also been told pulsing mV's AC?
