Good cam for 383 LT1?
Using a lunati 60122 231/239 535/550 seems to do fine for me does not seem like it lacks any power at all. I could drive it everyday with the mail order tune that is in it now personally. Not sure what others would think because performance overrides comfort for me.
Overall I like it but like I said I am quite tolerate of how a car drives, so someone else may or may not like it. Plus I am on a mail order tune AND a stock stall which if it does have any surge in it I will feel it. The cam obviously would benefit from ported heads as with any cam, but for stock heads it runs pretty good IMO.
Keep in mind mine is not dyno tuned which can really help get that "surging" out people experience.

No, the roller lifters and pushrods do not need to be replaced with just a cam swap ....... provided they were appropriate for the original valve train set up. That is, for example, hardened pushrods with guide plates on a non self aligning rocker arm set up. Valve springs are a different matter however .... they must be capable of supporting any higher valve lift numbers due to the cam swap.
