Gmhtp Wants To Hear From Lt-1 Owners!!!!!!

Hey All'
I just finished reading the "OFF THE WIRE" section in GMHTP, and a guy named Jim Gulver wrote a peace called LT LOVE. In short he said that there is not enought stuff about LT-1's in the mag, and I agree!!!
The Editor Rick Jensen says that the LT1 is "problematic and difficult-to-work-on" ,and "they are important engines in our market". Both of these are true but I still love mine!!! And he continues to say that he gets 10 letters on LS cars, to 1 on LT cars.
He puts a call out to LT1 owners to send him Features and Street Heat artical possibilities.
So I'm putting the call out to you people with these cars to send stories ,pics, or just drop him a Email to say how much you like these engines.
His Email: rick.jensen@sourceinterlink.com

Thanks

you know what would be a super cool write up if possible. A shootout between LE and AI packages! They would get a lot more sales from this forum alone.

research it first then start a new thread if you can't find any answers, your post has nothing to do with this thread.

I'll write Rick. And what I'm going to suggest is a 3 or 4 part article on an LSX swap into an LT1 generation body, specific to our cars only. I'll even buy the LS3 and offer up my car for the spread

Let's face it - Rick was right on. They are hard to work on and are handicapped technology. Sure you can make them fast, but for guys who live in states like the lovely Republic of Kalifornia (sic) the smog laws and the consequences of crossing any line of interpretation of these laws is getting to be a real hassle. Why not easily make 450 smog-legal rwhp N/A, and be far easier to work on to boot? Sounds like a deal to me. Don't get me wrong - I love my little LT1 too (is a 12.4:1 385 CI 'little'?) - it makes great power, sounds unbelievable, but I would sacrifice it in a New York minute for peace of mind from the smog-gestapo if I could keep the looks of my LT1 car, which I think looks 10X better than the catfish-inspired LS1 bretheren.

Not quite what I was looking for. But I do agree that the LT1 Camaro's look like a Camaro!!! Not a Bug. I do agree that the LT's are hard to work on but that's what makes them FUN!!! Alot or us dont have the same rules to play by as you do and when I'm done my head cam swap I'm going looking for my neighbor with the Black TA with the LS1.
By the way I hope they can help you out, I love the Mag. and want to see it do more tec.stuff. If they do I'll take you "Little LT". LOL!!!

What size or resolution pictures would be needed for the Street Heat?

And I think the LE vs AI story would be awesome.

I got an LT1 and I love it to pieces. When I read the last issue of GMHTP and read that comment my jaw dropped. I am planning in the spring to send them a ton of pics. Lots of people say that I have one of the nicest looking LT1 TA's that they have seen, so we will see.

HOLY CRAP! GMHTP PRINTED MY EMAIL! I can't believe it, I sent it so long ago I forgot.

But simply put, if the LT1 has problems, I think that GMHTP should be there to guide us in how to fix them. Whether it's problematic or not, the LT1 is here to stay, and I'm sure a lot of us wouldn't trade our LT1 for any engine.

Heads/cam packages are great reading, but there are far too few articles about bolt-ons. An awesome article would be one that incorporates maintenance and performance upgrades, like say, an opti swap. They could compare all the opti's on the market, and show all the owners a few tricks to installing them. Or another good topic would be exhaust. Headers or catback, as exhaust is a common upgrade.

This is a pretty good LT1 article from them.

I'd like to see more like it.
