For those interested, is that only if it's less expensive than building an LS1?

Why not build a big CID Gen I?
I could still use the pcm and harness without spending thousands for a different engine.

SHP blocks are around the $1500-1800 range typically. Considering that machine work on the weaker stock block to make a 4-bolt splayed 383/396 is not too much less than that, then of course it will be MUCH cheaper. You can keep ALL of your current accessories, wiring, PCM, fueling, transmission, etc without changing anything whatsoever, just as if doing a regular rebuild...except that you end up with MANY more cubes.

Yep - there is no captcha image displayed. Sheesh. Anyway, I'd be
interested - actually, I'd be interested in two blocks.

I am interested since I'm prepping for a project build now. My purpose is the silver state classic. What is the timeline.

I'm gearing up for a 396 but can wait a few months.

I live in cali if you need to pilot and test.

Iam all for a big inch lt1 and Ill worry about the head flow later, there are a lot of big blocks that the heads don't have big flow numbers and produce very good power.

Build a good foundation and the heads will follow.

AFR 227cc eliminators are the same potential as the gen 1's also AFR is coming out with a 235cc version really soon also, hopefully they make an LT1 version of the head also. both those heads will be capable of 700hp n/a in a proper buildup.

Well I would be will to put money down and get on a waiting list for a block. I think If the block is only good for 600 hp then they might not want to even produce it.

I would be happy with a lt1 block , 4inch stroke and 4.0-4.155 bore . If it is weaker then a stock block why even build it?

also I would like to keep my 1 pc rear main seal on less they make a kit to keep the 1pc rmc crank

I'm still waiting to see even ONE example of a 750hp LT1 without power adders. 500? sure... a good 396 can get there. 550? ok, I'll give ya that... but 750?! LMAO.

Seriously, no 23* LT1 heads can really get past ~310cfm (and I'm being generous here)... asking for even 620 is pushing the bounds of reason. Custom, raised runners, sheet-metal intake, aftermarket PCM, say a 8500 redline on a solid roller and sure, you can get close to 600 if a miracle happened ... but 750? I must be missing something here.

Did the Dominion heads ever get ironed out? Did someone launch an 11* LTx head?

The truth is that finding even a Gen I SBC head/cam that can make 750 at the crank with a 7000 redline is rare... casting a custom 427 LTx block to try it seems like a fun project to burn tons of cash.

There's already been an aluminum 427 LTx block and the owner never set any records with it other than displacement.

WAY more market would exist for an aluminum LTx block instead. 100pounds off the front would be worth more than the price IMO.
