fuel pump...relay..or wat is it?
fuel pump...relay..or wat is it?
Ok so this is what happened, i took my camaro to a "mechanic" to change my fans because they were no good, he gives me a call that the car wont start so wat i did is took some gas wich it already had sum but i took sum just incase.
he try turning it on but it wont start. he tells me it was my fuel pump that went out. is that possible for a fuel pump top go put just all of a sudden? he opened the key and u cant hear the little noise of the gas flowing. what he did was he got fuel started and put sum on the fuel line i guess and the car started up just fine, well turned off after he stoped spraying. so is it my fuel pump? or could it be relay or fuel filter? when i turn igniton to on i cannot hear the beeeep sound sooo....
any suggestions will be helpful thnx

First thing you need to do is tell us the year of the vehicle... not all years of the LT1 are the same.
Two checks required - 1) check the fuel pressure; 2) check for PCM codes.
You can also check to see if the pump will operate by applying 12V to the fuel pump prime connector, near the PCM. That connector bypasses the computer and the fuel pump relay.
Sounds like he may have knocked the harness wire loose on the distributor. Without the cam position signal from the optical sensor in the distributor, the PCM shuts down the fuel system.
Shoebox has photos of the fuel pump prime connector:
