Fuel pump problem?? Help the Newb!!

I started my car today, ran fine. Shut her down went into a store for 5 minutes came back out and she wouldn't start. Tried again and she had to crank for 5-8 secs before it fired. When it did fire she ran good, with good oil pressure and idles fine with no misses and no loss of ponies that I noticed. Temp outside was about 95 with a heat index in the triples digits. Don't think the coil was hot......I think I might be losing the fuel pump. Any suggestions. I feel scared and alone, someone help me!! Please!

Easiest way to diagnose the fuel pump is to check the pressure at the Schrader valve on the hardline behind the intake manifold. At idle, look for 41-47psi with the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator, and a 6-8psi drop when you put the vacuum line back on. At WOT/max engine load the pressure should stay above 40psi. When you shut the engine off, fuel pressure should not drop rapidly.
