fuel pump dying i think
ok recently my car has been doing strange things. it will hesitate to start after it has been driven for a while. and once i turn it off the fuel pump will keep running for i dont know how long but will be off by the next time i drive it.
also when i let off the gas it wants to die and the idle will surge untill i come to a stop. then it will even out.
any other takers on a weak fuel pump? it is a stock unit with 114xxx miles on it on the motor in my sig
and the other day i blew my 10 bolt and found one from a 96 camaro ss it looked a bit different and the abs sensor is different on the inside (from obd 2 car) after i swapped them my check engine light came on. so i think thats what the check engine light is from.

1. If you think you have a fuel pump problem, put a pressure gauge on it, and check the pressure at idle, with and without the vacuum compensation line attached to the fuel pressure regulator. Then shut the engine down and see how long the fuel pressure holds. Then with the gauge taped to the windshield, take it out on the road to WOT/max RPM and see if the pressure holds at least 40psi. There are numerous posts on the "Fuel and Ignition" forum regarding how to check fuel pressure.
2. If you have a check engine light, scan it. The ABS system does not turn on the SES light. There is no "OBD-2" with regard to the ABS system. The difference in the rear axle sensors is a function of whether you have a 3-channel ABS-only system, or a 4-channel ABS+TCS system.

Your issues were different than mine on my 97 TA. Mine would leak down after being turned off and upon restart take 30 seconds or more of starter winding to build pressure all the way back up through the line. Basically mine was losing its prime.
I really am leaning tward saying that it may be more of an electrical issue, but cant say for sure.
Definitely follow Injuneer's reccomendations for troubleshooting.
