Fuel issue?????

Well here is the deal the other day my car died on me coming around a bend at about 20-25mph and would not start back up. I had 1/2 tank of gas at the time. Got it towed home and decided to check the harness from the racetronix kit that has been on the car for about 2.5 years. So I unpluged the harness and plugged the stock harness in and the car fired up fine, then I put the racetronix harness back in and the car still ran fine so I took it out and gave it a wot blast and the car died again. I then plugged the stock harness back in and it started up fine. Today I checked the fuel pressure at idle with the stock harness/racetronix harness and wot on both and had 40plus for pressure all the time. So now I am stumped I thought the harness may be the problem but didnt give me any today. Any thoughts?

Re: Fuel issue?????

I'd check your ignition system. Are you running an aftermarket ignition box (MSD, Crane)?

When it dies do you have dash lights? Do the accessories work (radio, windows, etc)? Ignition switches have been know to be flakey with age and could cause the motor to die.

Plug in the laptop, Rob. Datamaster will tell you if you have any stored codes or whatnot. Has the car been sitting long? I occasionally have the same issue if I let the car sit for a week, but it's fine after a day of driving.
