I need to quiet my car some!!! Dynomax Muffler???

I did many searches and saw alot of people that recommended the Dynomax Super Turbo abd Ulta Flow mufflers to tone down the loudness, but need to know if it will be a direct replacement for my Hooker? I definately want to keep the dual exit pipes and same tips, but will everything else bolt right up? Also would I need the 17739, or the 17740?

your hooker muffler is too loud!?!? Then you need a stock muffler.
The ultra flow is the same design as the hooker aerochamber, straight thru. it will not be quieter.

yeah the hooker is one of the quieter catbacks. you could maybe but a bullet style muffler in the I-pipe before the hooker muffler??? i do know what you mean though...I love the of my hooker and LT headers with no cats when I feel like getting on it, but on some days i would rather not hear it all the time.

Are your mods only the ones noted in the sig? A fully blocked off Borla muffler is very quiet - and restrictive.

I have a 4" welded Dynomax and it is pretty loud. It is mellow and it doesn't really "scream," but for a 4" exhaust I think the best description is that it is a good balance of power, quietness, size, and performance. I put a bullet muffler in the Ipipe, and it makes almost no difference in volume. Its mellows the tone a little, but that is about it.

Keep in mind that your power output is proportional to the amount of volume.

Top fuel dragsters 8000hp are louder than a stock camaro 285hp with a cutout.

I thought that was b/c of all the stickers they had on them.

LOL, I also have an ORP on right now, so I may put the Cat back on, but its still load as hell. I like the loudness at times, yes dont get me wrong, but Id like too start driving the car a little more and it gets really old after a while.

Get a stock muffler and an electric cut out, that will solve most of the issues.

Should I get one from an LT1, or LS1, or is there a good OEM replacement I can find somewhere? I have 3" pipe and 2.5" dual exits.

Why not try some of those muffling cones that they sell at Summit.
