Fuel injectors
Re: Fuel injectors
What brand is the fuel pressure regulator - hopefully not an Aeromotive?
Wet fuel or strong fuel smell is generally a sign of a failed diaphragm in the FPR. Checking the fuel pressure at idle, with and without the vacuum line connected can indicate a problem. Odd part is your pressure did not drop after the pump primed.
Did you try taking the EGR vacuum line off the manifold and plugging the vacuum port? Maybe there is a short to ground causing the EGR solenoid to stay open. Pull the electrical connector off the solenoid.

Re: Fuel injectors
Hey Fred I got a better update now. I did that vacuum port thing, and unplugged the sensor like you told me still the same thing. I did another fuel pressure check,I had my wife just turn the key as I looked at the pressure this time the psi was like 18 to 16,I had my wife crank it and it dropped to like 10 psi. I did that fuel pressure test like 3x and my pressure stayed the same 18 to 16.
I don't remember the brand the fpr,I think I got it from AutoZone. And the engine oil has a gas smell to it too 😒

If the diaphragm failed, wouldn't if you disconnect the vac line, gas would come shooting out the vac port on the FPR if the pump was running???
Re: Fuel injectors
that's what I thought too....but my vacuum line that inserts into the regulator wreaks of gas/odor. And my engine oil has gas in it too.
Re: Fuel injectors
Just did a fuel pressure test with gauge and I'm getting 15 to 16 psi and the regulator and fuel filter have been changed. So I'm gonna say the fuel pump has gone. What's ur guy's thoughts or opinions thanks.

I really like the Racetronix kits: https://www.racetronix.biz/customkit...sp?kc=rfpk-003
Re: Fuel injectors
The whole time if anyone needed to know about the issue of what it was my IAC valve wiring had two broken wires the B and D. After reconnecting them my camaro stays running, thank you everyone.
