Fuel or ignition system?
Fuel or ignition system?
Earlier this week I put gas in my car, it was relatively low when I did this, and about a mile down the road the engine just cut out, I pulled over and it started back up. It did this two more times on the way home. I called and spoke to my dad and he thought it could be the fuel filter. This made sense, since I hadn't replaced it since I got the car. Because I lack the tools, I was not able to just swap it out at that point.
The next day the car was fine, around 60 miles, no problems at all. Then yesterday it was significantly harder than usual to start the car, it would turn over but not start without a few tries. Then, it would not start at all.
We've replaced the fuel filter and the coil, but neither has had any affect. The engine did throw a code earlier in the day but I have no reader to be able to tell exactly what it is.
As far as he can tell it is not getting spark, so I'm wondering if anyone has any areas to examine or insight into the issue.
