You can just stay with Standard parts and build a POOSY Stroker. But if you wanna do it right then you should get some FORGED internals
who makes a good kit with forged internals for a LT1 383 stroker? How big of a nitrous shot can you run with it? Also, i don't know if it matters but i plan on putting AFR LT4 heads on at the same time. Are they any good? Thanks for the help.
Not sure on the AFR's, I know that they are good but I believe some people have mixed opinions on them... You can get PRETTY far on having a stock LT1 head ported out... Or you could pick yourself up some LT4 bare heads and have those ported out which would prolly be the way to go..
As far as stroker KITS.. THey are pretty much GAY... Best thing to do is PIECE it together yourself.. Get some H-Beam Rods, A nice forged crank, some JE/SRP Pistons... Depends on how much you wanna spend really... You can get some EAGLE rods which are EXTREMELY NICE and they are at a reasonable price... Or you could get really crazy and get some Oliver rods which are like a GRAND for a set
Kinda overboard to tell you the truth..
hope this helps

A "kit" is a good idea. There is a big advantage unless you know exactly what you are doing to ordering the parts as a "kit" from a knowledgable source. I have seen people make both gross and subtle mistakes ordering parts individually. Everything from rods thsat don't fit the crank journals to pistons with the wrong compression height. And a "kit" will save you money.
One other thing to consider: there are advantages to having the shop doing the machine work order the parts. It's their responsibility to make sure everything fits and if they get the parts there won't be any confusion about who's responsible if something goes wrong. The shop may get a better price than you can as well.
